The Killers Honor One of Their Most Notable Influences With a Cover of David Bowie’s “Fame”

The Killers are the latest act to grace the Live Lounge on the BBC Radio 1 show, where they played something old, something new and something borrowed.

The Vegas rockers kicked off their appearance with a performance of their Wonderful, Wonderful banger “The Man” and then seamlessly transitioned into a David Bowie tribute, covering the Starman’s 1975 classic “Fame.” It seems only fitting that they meld a Bowie-inspired song with a Bowie original. Afterward, they finished the set with one of their own classics, “Mr. Brightside.”

Along with “The Man,” The Killers have also released “Run for Cover” and “Wonderful, Wonderful” from their forthcoming album, due Sept. 22 via Island Records.

Check out “Fame” above and “The Man” below, plus Bowie’s own rendition of “Fame” circa 1987 in the Paste Cloud player.
