Twin Peaks Release Lyric Video for New Song “Butterfly”
Chicagoland guitar heroes Twin Peaks dropped a new song and lyric video simultaneously this afternoon, a straightforward jam called “Butterfly” that will make you wish you were out in the sun rather than trapped in an office or classroom. The minimalist lyric video features hand-scrawled lyrics from the band in what appear to be finger-paint, which lets us catch some great classic rock references, ‘ala the following:
“And when the zombies started singing ‘bout the season, you know your daddy got up to dance / And it wasn’t for any other reason but the feeling in his corduroy pants.”
How can you resist it? Twin Peaks are the perfect continuation of the carefree rock aesthetic. Give the above song a listen. Their forthcoming third LP, Down in Heaven, comes out May 13.
You can hear a few more tracks from their 2014 Daytrotter session below.
