Watch Diarrhea Planet’s Thunderous AC/DC Tribute to Brian Johnson

Nashville garage rockers Diarrhea Planet have more guitarists among them than many bands have members (it’s four guitarists with two other members, for the record). Last week, during Infinity Cat Recordings’ SXSW showcase, the sextet got its School of Rock on and covered AC/DC’s fifth best song “Thunderstruck.” Harry Kagan, who fronts label-mates Music Band, filled in on vocals doing an excellently growly Brian Johnson while numerous nimble guitarists climbed their fretboards to imitate the song’s lightning fast opening riff.

Kagan and Diarrhea Planet honor their roots with a tribute to the belting legend through the thunderous cover. Johnson, who has fronted AC/DC since the tragic death of original singer Bon Scott in 1980, has departed the band, though the exact reason why is disputed.

Music Band’s Wake Up Laughing is out April 1 and the Planet’s next album, Turn To Gold is out June 10. The two are currently touring together. Dates below.
