Wu-Tang Clan Announce Documentary Celebrating Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

Twenty-five years after the release of Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the world’s introduction to the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, the New York City collective are looking back at where it all began.

Announced today, Nov. 7, Wu-Tang have partnered with Certified Classics on a new short film premiering on Friday, Nov. 9, titled For The Children: 25 Years of Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The documentary, shortened to “Wu Doc” on the collective’s Facebook page, is a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the group’s iconic debut.

For The Children will feature “family and friends”—such as A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Gary Vaynerchuck and Joey Bada$$—as well as members of Wu-Tang discussing the influence of the album. The short trailer released today gives a quick look into these conversations, featuring comments from Ghostface Killah (“Where do I see 36 Chambers 25 years from now? The way I see the new kids coming in, they come in ‘Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang’”), Masta Killa (“If you don’t plant seeds, it won’t be forever”) and the group’s de facto leader, RZA (“I think that the wick is lit and it’s going to continue to burn for generations”).

The short film was directed by Shomi Patwary, with Ashima Aiyer serving as creative director. It was executive produced by Ash Peters, and co-executive produced by Kaki Stergiou & Will McKinney-Raphelt.

This news follows an already-busy year for the collective. Early this month, they released a line of lip colors with Milk Makeup. Further, in October, Hulu announced its development of a new TV series written by RZA and based on Wu-Tang’s origin story.
