Here Are All This Year’s National Book Award Nominees

The National Book Foundation has been unveiling 2017’s National Book Award nominees one category at a time this week, and with today’s unveiling of the fiction longlist, we now have a complete picture of this year’s contenders.

The four categories—Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry and Young People’s Literature—feature 10 nominees each, for a total of 40 would-be winners. The next round of finalists will be revealed on Oct. 4, and the winners on Nov. 15. That should give you plenty of time to get reading.
