Lorde is currently in her home country of New Zealand on her Melodrama tour, and as Pitchfork points out, she gave the home fans a treat with a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire,” one of the Boss’s better ballads, from 1984’s Born in the U.S.A. “It’s something of an experiment,” she tells the crowd by way of an introduction, calling it “a song I love a lot.” At the 2:30 mark in the video, Lorde eases the song into a spare version of “400 Lux,” from her 2013 debut record, Pure Heroine.

Just a few weeks ago, Lorde teamed with Jack Antonoff for a live cover of Paul Simon’s “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard.” Read Paste’s review of Melodrama here.
