Netflix Shares Trailer for Ezra Koenig’s Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas Special

Ezra Koenig’s oddball, New York high-society satire by-way-of mecha anime is back to ring in the holidays, as Netflix has shared the trailer for Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas.

Created, written and executive produced by the Vampire Weekend frontman, Neo Yokio follows the adventures of young Kaz Kaan (Jaden Smith), who hunts demons and fights to maintain his place on Neo Yokio’s bachelor rankings, joined by his robot butler Charles (Jude Law). Netflix announced the special early last month, although it still has not yet confirmed a second season for the series.

In the first trailer for Pink Christmas, Kaz competes not only to best long-time rival and fellow bachelor Arcangelo Corelli (Jason Schwartzman) in a Secret Santa exchange, but must also defeat a giant, sentient Christmas tree that threatens his beloved city.

The star-studded special also features returning voice talents Susan Sarandon, Richard Ayoade, Alexa Chung, Ray Wise, Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, as well as newcomers Rashida Jones, Jamie Foxx, Angelique Kidjo and Julian Barratt.

Pink Christmas should be a solid choice for fans still waiting on Vampire Weekend’s highly anticipated third album, which will mark the band’s first release since 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City, and is currently expected to arrive in 2019.

Netflix launches Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas on Dec. 7.
