It is a truth universally acknowledged that summer is peak reading season. From our childhoods spent racking up Pan Pizzas thanks to the infamous Book It! Program to our adult years sprawled beside pools and on beaches with the latest bestsellers firmly in hand, there’s something deeply perfect about a day spent doing nothing but reading. The publishing industry is obviously fully aware of this, and schedules many of its biggest releases to drop during the hottest months of the year. YA readers are particularly spoiled for choice this month, with several big titles from established faves hitting shelves. 

With highly anticipated sequels (Jennifer Lynn Barnes, LaDarrion Williams), buzzy debuts (Rebecca Danzenbaker), and exciting new titles from established favorites (Liselle Sambury, Lyndall Clipstone), there’s something for everyone headed our way this month. 

Here are the best new YA books hitting shelves this July.
