Somebody Call Bono: 2 Dope Queens Renewed for Four New HBO Specials

The ladies of the 2 Dope Queens podcast are returning to HBO to discuss the hard-hitting issues in America, including race, sex, haircare and U2. The network has ordered four new specials from comedy duo Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams, and from the looks of their Twitter, they’re just as excited as we are:

Williams and Robinson launched their hyper-successful podcast in 2016. Each episode is taped live in Brooklyn, features three guest comedians and, though edited, is created from the spontaneous conversations between the two women. At 22, Williams was the youngest-ever senior correspondent on The Daily Show, while Robinson is the author of the 2016 best-selling essay collection You Can’t Touch My Hair (And Other Things I Still Have to Explain.)

In February, Williams and Robinson debuted their four-part comedy series on HBO. Each special was directed by Tig Notaro and featured guest appearances by Uzo Aduba, Tituss Burgess, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jon Stewart.

The new season will premiere on HBO in 2019, but to tide you over until then, catch Williams in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on Nov. 16 and watch for Robinson’s follow-up book Everything’s Trash, But It’s Okay, due out Oct. 16.
