Parkland Survivor Aalayah Eastmond Responds to Louis C.K.

One of the more inexplicable “jokes” in Louis C.K.’s right-wing talk radio rant of a stand-up set that leaked over the weekend targeted the survivors of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

During a lengthy tirade about these kids today that makes C.K. sound like a recliner-ridden grandfather grumbling at his TV, the former comedian included this unexpected jab at Parkland survivors:

“They testify in front of Congress, these kids?! Like, what the f-k? What are you doing? You’re young, you should be crazy. You should be unhinged. Not in a suit saying, ‘I’m here to tell you…’ F-k you. That’s not interesting. Because you went to a high school where kids got shot? Why does that mean I gotta listen to you? Why does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I gotta listen to you talk?”

Only one Parkland survivor has actually testified to Congress so far, and her name is Aalayah Eastmond. She didn’t “push some fat kid in the way” but had to hide under a classmate’s corpse to survive. Unlike C.K., who preyed on women for years and now wants sympathy because he lost some money after getting caught, Eastmond’s an actual victim of one of the most horrific mass shootings in history. Like many of her fellow survivors, she’s not cowed by power, fame or attacks from partisan hacks, and so she hasn’t let C.K.’s supposed joke go without a response. Here’s a tweet she addressed to the serial masturbater earlier today:

And here’s Eastmond’s testimony before Congress during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings.
