CollegeHumor has announced the public beta launch of DROPOUT, its new ad-free, multimedia subscription service.
Available online, and with apps in development for iOS and Android, DROPOUT is committed to delivering hilarious and uncensored content, free from the limitations that come with traditional platforms.
DROPOUT’s lengthier premium programming includes: original scripted and unscripted shows starring CollegeHumor’s most popular jokers and pranksters. These include Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld (of Jake and Amir), who will star in Lonely and Horny Season 2; Josh Ruben and Elaine Carroll (previously of Precious Plum), who will star in See Plum Run; and Raphael Chestang and Ally Beardsley, who will be featured in a reboot of Troopers.
Other programming sure to be a hoot includes the unscripted series Dimension 20: Fantasy High, which features new CollegeHumor cast member Brennan Lee Mulligan as he leads a campaign around a fantastical high school as Dungeon Master, and the YouTube sensation Um, Actually, CollegeHumor’s fandom game show with host Mike Trapp and several celebrity guests.
Apart from video content, DROPOUT will also deliver mobile-format digital comics and chat stories. The comics will include the series Dreadlord, Cartoon Hell Presents and Ladies Book Club, whereas chat stories will feature both continuations from DROPOUT’s original programming and entirely new narratives.
“Our goal is to defy traditional media with unique content, whether because it’s R-rated (See Plum Run), niche (Um, Actually), or unusual in terms of format (Dimension 20: Fantasy High, comics, and chats),” said Sam Reich, CollegeHumor Media’s Chief Creative Officer, in a statement. “We hope to offer users something surprising, immersive, and laugh-out-loud funny.”
