Dave Chappelle is Bringing Three New Stand-Up Specials to Netflix

Dave Chappelle is coming back in full force. Chappelle got his biggest moment in the spotlight in years when he appeared on Saturday Night Live two weekends ago, and it seems he’s not going back to his post-Chappelle Show solitude.

It was announced today that Chappelle will be bringing three stand-up specials to Netflix. The first will be an all-new special, with a release date to come. The other two are previously filmed but never released specials slated to premiere at the same time in 2017. These two specials will be “Chappelle’s first concert specials in 12 years,” according to the press release, so presumably they’ll be out before the Netflix-produced special.

Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s VP of Original Documentary and Comedy, said, “Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy—searing, vital, and now more than ever, essential. Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy, and we are honored he will mark his global return on Netflix.”

Nishimura has been doing an incredible job getting big-name comedians to come to Netflix with their specials, and Chappelle might be their biggest exclusive ever. Rejoice, and get a taste of recent Chappelle stand-up here.
