Surprise: Dave Chappelle Is Releasing Two New Stand-up Specials on New Year’s Eve

We already knew that Netflix was releasing Dave Chappelle’s third stand-up special of 2017 on the last day of the year. Well, it turns out there’s more: once again Chappelle will be dropping two new specials on the very same day.

Netflix announced today that Dave Chappelle: The Bird Revelation will be up on Dec. 31, 2017, at the same time as the previously announced Dave Chappelle: Equanimity. Netflix promises that Equanimity will be about “culture and class, politics and the specter of getting old;” all they’re saying about The Bird Revelation right now is that it was shot at the Comedy Store in LA on Nov. 20, 2017.

That’s the fourth new hour of Chappelle stand-up in 2017. Even for a guy who’s been out of the spotlight for so long, that’s a lot of new comedy. And it’ll be great prep for Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show marathon on New Year’s Day—you know, if you want to ring in 2018 by watching the hottest show of 2003.

You can find a quick teaser for The Bird Revelation below, and check out the news about his previously announced New Year’s special here. (That’s the one where he pops up in a scene from Stranger Things. It’s okay.)
