David Cross Announces New Comedy Special, Oh, Come On
Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste

David Cross’ new comedy special Oh, Come On is set to be released on the Comedy Dynamics Network (who were also behind the release of Jim Gaffigan’s Noble Ape, Kevin Smith’s Silent but Deadly and Joel McHale’s debut stand-up special) on May 10. The show was taped in August 2018 at the Orange Peel in Asheville, N.C., during Cross’ tour of the same name.

Cross told Vulture of Oh, Come On:

Man I had such a great time on this tour and the Asheville show in particular was a lot of fun. I think this set might be the tightest and most fluid one I’ve done yet. Whether that is a result of all the colloidal silver I’ve been ingesting or just the ‘Learn How to Do Stand-Up’ online courses I’ve been taking, either way I think you’ll enjoy this special. If you’re a fan that is. If you are predisposed to hating me then you probably won’t like it very much.

Seen recently as Dr. Tobias Funke in Arrested Development, Cross will be touching on everything, “from romantic dates at the colonic spa to his examination of why Trump supporters still find ways to support him,” per a press release.

It’ll be interesting to see the extent to which Cross addresses Times Up and Me Too in his set. Cross mentioned while discussing sexual harassment allegations against his Arrested Development co-star Jeffrey Tambor that “Jeffrey is not the only friend I have who has found himself on the other end of things. That will be brought up onstage, as well.”

His last comedy album, … America … Great, garnered the Mr. Show actor a Grammy nomination in 2017. It’s been a busy couple years for the comedian, who’s been nabbing plenty of voiceover parts (Cash’s white voice in Sorry to Bother You, the unending Kung Fu Panda sequels, etc.) and even appeared in 2017’s most obvious attempt at an Oscar grab, The Post.
