Samantha Bee’s Full Frontal Has Been Renewed For Season Two

Comedy News Full Frontal

Samantha Bee and Full Frontal have been a godsend since debuting in February, smack dab in the middle of election season. Now, considering the results of that election, we’re glad to know she’ll be around for a while longer.

TBS announced today that Full Frontal has been renewed for a second season, set to premiere in January. Full Frontal has seen a dramatic rise in its viewership over the course of its first season, now averaging 3.3 million viewers across all platforms (third best for late-night shows for the 18-49 crowd), and increasing 37 percent in the coveted 18-49 demographic quarter to quarter.

“I am only sorry that this renewal leaves me unavailable for a cabinet position in the new administration,” Bee said of the news. “I will, however, be available to host the White House Correspondents Dinner, seeing as I already bought the dress.”

TBS Senior VP of Original Programming Thom Hinkle said:

Of course we’re picking up the show. In less than a year, Sam has become one of the most talked-about personalities in all of television and Full Frontal’s audience continues to grow. We’re so lucky to have Sam and her Emmy-nominated team, led by the brilliant [showrunner] Jo Miller, as part of the TBS family.

The rest of season one airs until December on Mondays. Full Frontal will come back on Jan. 11, airing every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. EST. Sample Bee’s brilliance here.
