Watch James Corden’s Surprisingly Delightful “Donald: The Musical”
Images via Terence Patrick/CBS, CBS/YouTubeYesterday, James Corden stepped in to fill up one of the vacancies still remaining in the Trump era: the lack of a musical about Trump.
On The Late Late Show with James Corden, Corden hosted Tim Minchin, Ben Platt from Pitch Perfect and Abigail Spencer of Timeless to sing a number about the childhood years of Trump’s cabinet called “When I Grow Up.”
Minchin played Trump, Platt played Sean Spicer, Corden played Steve Bannon and Spencer played Kellyanne Conway. The number didn’t skimp on production value—the cast are all Broadway veterans, and they sang a surprisingly well-arranged song.
Don’t watch it expecting a hot take on current affairs, but the song does toe the prevailing liberal line with style. See for yourself above.
