Watch Jordan Peele Reenact a Drunk James Brown’s Infamous 1987 Interview

Back in 1987, James Brown, the godfather of soul, appeared on the CNN-sponsored program Sonya Live! In L.A. to speak to host Sonya Freidman about his South American tour and recent martial charges.

What resulted was an infamously strange interview where an inebriated Brown avoided all serious questions by breaking into random song and cackling at nothing at all.
