Problematic With Moshe Kasher Gets April Premiere Date
Photo by Art StreiberWriter and comedian Moshe Kasher’s new show Problematic is set to premiere Tuesday, April 18, at 10 p.m. EST on Comedy Central.
Though Kasher has only recently become fairly well-known, he’s been writing and doing stand-up with Comedy Central for a while. He’s a co-executive producer on Another Period, and has made appearances on @midnight with Chris Hardwick, Drunk History, This Is Not Happening and Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. He’s acted on popular shows such as Portlandia, Shameless and Garfunkel and Oates. As a writer, he’s written for Wet Hot American Summer and Zoolander 2—the latter of which, to be honest, isn’t exactly the best thing to have on your resume, though at least it’s quite high-profile. In 2012, Kasher released his breakout book with the provocative title Kasher in the Rye: The True Tale of a White Boy from Oakland Who Became a Drug Addict, Criminal, Mental Patient, and Then Turned 16.
His forthcoming show Problematic will be in the style of a reimagined 1980s casual daytime talk show. As to the subject matter, a press release gives the following description:
Each episode of Problematic will delve into a single topic of online outrage—impeachment, the dark web, ideological changes of heart, the liberal case for guns, and more—and examine how it shapes our culture. With the help of experts, comedians, and questions from both the in-studio and online audience, Kasher will solve every problem that has ever existed by the end of the episode, bringing peace and harmony to the internet once and for all while paving the way for a Winfrey/Schwarzenegger co-presidency in 2020.
Kasher was listed on Paste’s 2013 “10 Non-Headlining Shows to Catch at the New York Comedy Festival,” so that’s something. In any case, you can watch a teaser clip of Problematic here, and keep an eye out for forthcoming episodes on the Comedy Central website.
