Rick and Morty‘s Season Three Release Date is Up in the Air

So this is really disappointing: Rick and Morty season three doesn’t look like it’s coming in March. No one knows more than us about the excruciating wait for season three, and we’re sadly here to tell you now that no one knows when it’s coming back. Per Indiewire, while at Sundance, Dan Harmon, co-creator of Rick and Morty, responded to a question about the forthcoming season by saying:

I’m so sorry. I don’t have a release date for season three. It’s not that I know it and I’m not allowed to say it; it’s [Adult Swim’s] domain. What I will tell you is it’s late because of us, it’s late because of me.

We know this is tough, and we’re here for you.

“We have fights all the time and then we have fights about why we’re having fights,” Harmon said, talking about his relationship with co-creator Justin Roiland. “Well, we didn’t fight during season two, that’s why it’s taking longer! All this fighting! So okay, let’s stop fighting!”

While it’s good to know that the show’s creators are still hard at work, it does make the wait even more painful to know that it won’t happen when we thought. Creative delays are understandable, as it takes time, energy, blood, sweat and tears to do these kinds of things, especially when it’s something that is as energetically immersive as Rick and Morty.

So yeah, Rick and Morty will be back at some point. The question is, when? Find Harmon’s recent tweet storm clarifying and expanding on his comments on the subject below.
