Watch Sam Bee Cover Voter Integrity Commission, Trump Impeachment Rally, Congressional Bro-Fest on Latest Full Frontal

Watching Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is our happy place. It’s where we can go for comfort when we’re worried the entire country has lost its mind. Here’s a recap of last night’s particularly soothing episode.

In her first segment, Bee delved deeper into the Voter Integrity Commission, which is fronted by three lawyers with backgrounds of trying to make sure voting is impossible for people who aren’t white. Since his election, Trump has been obsessed with finding these fraudulent voters and is probably having so much trouble because they don’t exist. As Bee notes, “Those mythical three million illegal voters are the president’s obsession, his white whale. Although it the whale were white, Trump would be a lot less concerned about it voting.”

What makes Full Frontal such a great show is its ability to make fun of its own demographic. Bee sent two of her correspondents to a Trump impeachment rally, which was filled with well-intentioned liberals who don’t understand how impeachment works—or how futile it would be with the string of replacement presidents lined up to take Trump’s place. Though impeaching Trump is a nice thought, with his band of loyal Congressmen behind him, he’s practically untouchable. As one of Bee’s correspondents points out, devotion to party is the reason “more presidents have been removed from office by cholera than by impeachment.”

Bee also tackled Congress’ open mic night, which turned into a drunken history lesson on why transgender U.S. soldiers don’t deserve to have their sex reassignment surgeries funded by the government. Louie Gohmert (R, Texas) and Steve King (R, Iowa) had a bro-fest on the House floor, talking to a crowd of exactly zero about their knowledge of castration of slaves in the Ottoman Empire and how they turned into absolute pansies on the battlefield after their manhood was chopped off, which is totally equivalent to a U.S. soldier having a sex reassignment surgery of their own volition after serving in the military.

Kudos to Samantha Bee for always being there to make us laugh when we need it most. If television becomes heavily censored by the government and you’re forced to continue your service underground, we’ll be right there with you. Not physically, of course. That sounds scary.
