Watch the Teaser for Samantha Bee’s Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Yesterday, Samantha Bee released a teaser for her forthcoming special, Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner, on her show Full Frontal With Samantha Bee. The teaser places Bee as host of Correspondents’ Dinners of yesteryear.

“He’s a nut farmer, get it?” Bee quips, of former President Jimmy Carter. “Yikes, I’m bombing harder than the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.”

Bee also makes light of President Trump’s absence from the main dinner in the teaser: “Traditionally, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner toasts the President of the United States … but this year, a lot of people’s plans changed. So we’re throwing a party to toast the free press. While we still have one.”

The Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner will take place on April 29, at 10 p.m. EST at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., and will coincide with the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Trump will reportedly be absent from both events.
