Sarah Silverman is Taking Her Talents to Netflix
Photo by Robyn Von Swank Comedy News Sarah SilvermanComedy enthusiasts now have a new stand-up special from Sarah Silverman to look forward to. Silverman, whose comedy is famous for pushing boundaries, has been working stand-up circuits for more than 25 years. Silverman, further, boasts robust show-business credentials, including roles in School of Rock, There’s Something About Mary and Wreck It Ralph.
It’s reasonable to expect that the forthcoming special will feature Silverman’s political flair. In recent years, alongside fellow comediennes such as Lena Dunham and Chelsea Handler, Silverman has made leftist and feminist political advocacy a central feature of her public persona. You can check out her Twitter for a taste of her politics. Like most stand-up comedians, Silverman has experienced critical backlash at key points in her career for tone-deaf jokes and commentary.
Her Netflix special, slated to shoot later this month, may put her alongside Aziz Ansari, John Mulaney and Bo Burnham, all of whom have overwhelmingly popular Netflix stand-up specials. Catch it on Netflix on May 30.
