NBC Sets Awkwafina, Seth Meyers as Next SNL Hosts; Travis Scott, Paul Simon as Musical Guests

NBC has set the hosts and musical guests of the next two episodes of SNL, and we’re getting both total newcomers and long, long-time veterans.

This summer’s Crazy Rich Asians and Ocean’s 8 breakout Awkwafina is set to host the second episode of the season on Oct. 6, joined by first-time musical guest Travis Scott, who’s set to embark on the Astroworld – Wish You Were Here tour in November.

For the third episode of the season, airing on Oct. 13, we have host Seth Meyers, who spent 13 seasons on the show and, of course, was “Weekend Update” anchor before his current Late Night gig. Musical guest Paul Simon will also join the 15-timers club with his appearance on the forthcoming episode, which has him celebrating his 77th birthday and promoting his 14th studio album, In the Blue Light.

The show’s picks for the season premiere this coming weekend seemed a bit underwhelming, so it’s good to hear that the following two weeks are a bit more up the show’s usual alley. Now so long as the show stays clear of any particularly dicey Brett Kavanaugh jokes, we should be in for a good time.
