17th Annual SF Sketchfest Announces Huge Lineup, Feat. Ricky Gervais, Dick Cavett, Jane Lynch, More

Annual sketch-comedy festival SF Sketchfest will hold its 17th event next January, and the list of names in attendance is absurdly large. The eclectic festival will host more than 200 shows across 16 venues in the San Francisco area, lasting from Jan. 11-28, 2018. A combination of A-list stars and up-and-coming comedians and performers will take part in sketch performances, stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, films, tributes, live podcasts, workshops and panel discussions.

Headlining the event are names like Ricky Gervais, Christopher Guest, Dick Cavett, Jane Lynch, John Hodgman, Lewis Black, Danny McBride, Jody Hill and Paul F. Tompkins, all of whom will be involved in live, in-person tributes during the festival. Featured events include a tribute to Twin Peaks, with numerous cast members from David Lynch’s television show taking part, a 40th anniversary screening of Animal House, and events celebrating Futurama, Animaniacs and Rocko’s Modern Life.

Audible will return to the festival as a sponsor, also presenting live versions of their original comedy podcasts, such as Dr. Katz: The Audio Files, The Rant is Due with Lewis Black, Hold On with Eugene Mirman, Hot Mic with Dan Savage and more. With too many individuals, comedy troupes and events to mention, you can check out the SF Sketchfest website for full details.
