Dope, the Sundance breakout hit, has released its full red-band trailer. The film follows three high schoolers, Malcolm, Jib and Diggy, in a coming-of-age story as they try to survive growing up in Inglewood, CA and find themselves drawn into a wild adventure involving a drug deal gone wrong.
Dope stars Shameik Moore as the geeky Malcolm, with Tony Revolori as Jib and Kiersey Clemons as Diggy. The film was written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa and also features rapper A$AP Rocky, who introduces the trailer.
There are plenty of familiar shenanigans that the trio get themselves into, calling back films like Superbad and Harold and Kumar, but in a fresh new setting bringing a different perspective.
