Jon Stewart Announces The Date of His Last Episode of The Daily Show

It’s the end of an era. Jon Stewart announced on last night’s The Daily Show that his last episode behind the desk will be on Aug. 6.

Stewart lightened the mood characteristically by undercutting it with humor, joking that “I’ll be wearing a suit, I’ll more than likely be showered…I’m sorry, I’ll be wearing overalls and I won’t shower.”

He also went on to explain how viewers can win the opportunity to attend his last show, by entering into a contest at Omaze where you can donate to Night of Too Many Stars and New York Collaborates for Autism for a chance to win 2 tickets, along with hotel reservations and other perks.

Stewart discussed the reasoning behind his decision to leave The Daily Show and reflected on his experience working there, in a recent interview with The Guardian.

After Stewart steps down, Trevor Noah will replace him, although no start date for the new host has been announced as of yet.
