Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail to End After its Current Third Season

Comedy News The Meltdown

UPDATE: We originally confused the final day of the TV show with the final day for the live show. We’ve updated that accordingly.

The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail, the stand-up comedy series starring Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani, will end after its third season. The announcement came on Thursday via the show’s website. The final show will air on Nov. 22, with the last live show in Los Angeles happening on Oct. 19.

“We never imagined how much we’d get out of this experience – we’ve gotten ridiculous memories, we’ve gotten three seasons of a TV show on Comedy Central, and we’ve gotten the best damn audience on the planet,” said the show’s team in a statement following the announcement.

The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail was shot in the style of a documentary in the Nerdist Showroom. In addition to stand-up, the show also featured celebrities who stopped by the show’s green room during the weekly live comedy show. Some of the show’s guests have included Jim Gaffigan, Weird Al Yankovic, Nick Offerman and Marc Maron.

In a statement, Comedy Central expressed hope for the opportunity to work with Ray and Nanjiani in the future. “As the live show is coming to an end, we’ve mutually agreed to make this the third and final season of The Meltdown With Jonah And Kumail. We look forward to working with Jonah, Kumail and Emily on future projects.”
