Watch Thundercat Bass-Battle it Out with a Robotic Hannibal Buress on The Eric Andre Show

The Eric Andre Show is pretty weird. Okay, it’s really weird—but that’s what gives the show its entertainment value. Andre never fails to push the envelop way beyond where anyone would expect it to go, and the results are often phenomenal. The comedian seems to have a particular affinity for making his guests wildly uncomfortable, usually via full-frontal male nudity.

The show’s next episode is no departure from Andre’s usual routine in that regard—bass wizard Thundercat (who’s collaborated with Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Kamasi Washington and many others) will appear on the show this Sunday, and a clip of his appearance has surfaced.

In it, he bass-battles a robotic Hannibal Buress (who apparently doesn’t know how to play bass) until a soft-spoken naked man in a shredded shirt and tie comes out and hugs the musician. A bit of a shame, since Thundercat really shreds for about 30 seconds before he gets interrupted. See it for yourself above. The Eric Andre Show airs Sundays at midnight on Adult Swim.
