Dark Horse Comics’ Berger Books imprint, curated by legendary former Vertigo editor Karen Berger, continues to march along in 2019 with a new slate of original series. First off the block is The Girl in the Bay from writer J.M. DeMatteis and artist Corin Howell, in which a 17-year-old girl is brutally attacked and thrown into Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay. When she miraculously survives and emerges from the water, she discovers that 50 years have passed, and a doppelganger has lived out her life in her place. A few weeks after The Girl in the Bay launches on February 6th, it will be joined on the shelves by Invisible Kingdom, the long-awaited original series from outgoing Ms. Marvel writer G. Willow Wilson and Ody-C artist Christian Ward. Invisible Kingdom is set in a far-flung solar system and follows a religious acolyte and an embittered freighter pilot who uncover a massive conspiracy between the system’s dominant religion and an oppressive mega-corporation.
