Take Flight with an Exclusive First Look at Process Art for How To Train Your Dragon: The Serpent’s Heir
Dreamworks and Dark Horse Comics Team Up to Continue the Story of Hiccup, Toothless and the Rest of the Gang
Main Art by Pierre-Olivier VincentOn February 25th, Dark Horse joins forces with Dreamworks to continue the wildly popular How to Train Your Dragon saga with How To Train Your Dragon: The Serpent’s Heir, an original graphic novel co-written by series writer and director Dean DeBlois and Richard Hamilton, with art from Doug Wheatley. Picking up where 2014’s How To Train Your Dragon 2 left off, The Serpent’s Heir finds resourceful young Viking Hiccup, his dragon buddy Toothless, tough-as-nails Astrid and the rest of their motley gang of pals called upon to assist a neighboring island ravaged by an earthquake. Of course, natural disasters in the Dragon world typically have reptilian causes, and the beast behind the quake may prove to be more than the battle-tested dragon-riders of Berk can handle.
In advance of the graphic novel’s launch, Paste has an exclusive first look at three pieces of process art from Wheatley. For more fire-breathing action, pick up How To Train Your Dragon: The Serpent’s Heir next month.
