Grant Morrison & Dan Mora’s Klaus Returning this December from BOOM! Studios
Art by Dan Mora/BOOM! StudiosBOOM! Studios announced this week that its annual Christmas series Klaus will be returning to shelves this December, from returning creative team Grant Morrison and Dan Mora. Since its launch in 2015, Klaus has been a fun combination of wholesome holiday adventures and high-concept Morrison writing. The Eisner-nominated series is a reimagining of the character with modern superhero and fantasy elements that looks at Santa Claus’ most under-appreciated and thrilling stories.
Continuing that trend, this year’s edition sees Klaus team up with “an absentee dad-turned-snowman,” per BOOM!’s announcement. Klaus sets out to help his friend make amends, all while fighting off the entire pantheon of Norse gods. In the series’ solicitation, Morrison adds that Romanian Communist Santa is set to join the mix, and artist Mora alludes to sci-fi elements that push the story to Saturn’s rings. It sounds like a wild story only these two can tell.
Klaus and the Crying Snowman #1 is coming to town this December. See Mora’s main and variant cover art below, and revisit our 2017 interview with Morrison here.
