Marvel Partners with Wounded Warrior Project for the New Storyline Venom: Space Knight
Ariel Olivetti/Marvel EntertainmentMarvel has teamed up with the non-profit organization, Wounded Warrior Project, to create the new series, Venom: Space Knight.
This new storyline, illustrated by Ariel Olivetti (who has also illustrated Daredevil and X-Men), brings Flash Thompson into the spotlight. First introduced as the classmate and bully of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy No. 5, Thompson has lost both his legs serving in the Iraq War and has received prosthetic legs. Also the current wearer/master of the Venom Symbiote, the storyline follows Thompson’s struggles with the process of coming to terms with his new limbs and handling the rehabilitation.
The storyline, written by Robbie Thompson with input provided by Wounded Warrior Project spokesperson (and double amputee), Dan Nevins, has been released with Venom: Space Knight No. 3 on Jan. 27, in both comic book stores and digitally.
