Nancy Peña’s Madame Cat is the Purrfect Summer Read for Feline Fans

Last week, Paste brought you an exclusive first look at the next wave of titles from Humanoids’ Life Drawn imprint, which focuses on personal, political real-world narratives, not the sci-fi/fantasy epics for which the publisher is best known. Today, we’re scratching the surface of Life Drawn’s newest release, on shelves this week. Nancy Peña’s Madame Cat is an often hilarious commentary on the complicated nature of our feline friends. Across a series of vignettes, Peña depicts the love, laughter and frustrations of a pet who thinks she’s an owner—a quirk most cat parents will recognize. These bite-sized sketches capture all the charm (and headaches) that cats bring us. Check out an exclusive preview of Madame Cat below, along with a look at the full-sized Madame Cat plush animal. They’re available only from the Humanoids booth (#1632) at San Diego’s Comic-Con International this upcoming weekend, and will be sold for $14.95 when you buy the $12.95 Madame Cat book.
