A few months ago, a copy of Action Comics No. 1, D.C.’s first Superman comic, sold for $3.2 million on Ebay and became the most expensive comic book of all time.
That particular comic book was the rarest of its breed. A 76-year-old comic is already hard to find; it’s in near-mint condition, and the Certified Guaranty Company gave it a 9.0.
It’s also available to read for free online. CGC Comics has posted a digital scan of the famous issue on its website.
Released in 1938, Action Comics No. 1 marks the first appearance of Superman and delves into his origins. The issue also introduces Lois Lane and Zatara.
