Deftones Paired Up with a San Diego Brewery to Make a Beer of Their Own

Drink News Deftones

Deftones have partnered with San Diego’s Belching Beaver Brewery to create a new beer called Phantom Bride IPA. The brew is a hoppy West Coast-style India Pale Ale made with Mosaic, Amarillo, Simcoe and Citra hops, all handpicked by Deftones frontman Chino Moreno.

The beer ships from Belching Beaver, where it is brewed and bottled, to distribution outlets in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii and California today. It will be available on Oct. 3 in any places craft beer is sold, both on draft and in 22-oz. bottles.

In a press release, Moreno said: “Really excited to see our Phantom Bride IPA hit the shelves. As a huge beer connoisseur it was a privilege collaborating with Belching Beaver on the flavor profiles and coming out with a beer that I would put right up with any of my favorites. Good stuff!”

The beer gets its name from the band’s latest single “Phantom Bride,” from their current album Gore. Keep an eye out for the beer when it hits stores, listen to its namesake song below and find a photo of the brew beneath that.
