It’s Cold Mountain Season

This November marks the 20th anniversary of Cold Mountain, the much sought after winter seasonal from Highland Brewing, in Asheville, North Carolina. The recipe for the winter warmer changes every year, but you can typically count on it being malt forward with hints of vanilla and sometimes cinnamon. It’s one of those beers that people stand in line for on release day, then spend an inordinate amount of time over the next month searching for bottles in local stores. This year, to mark two decades of the beer, Highland has released an imperial version of the beer that hits 8% ABV in addition to the standard seasonal.
