Attack on Titan Live-Action Film Debuts English-Subtitled Trailer

Australian distributor Madman Entertainment has released an English-subtitled version of the second trailer for the Attack on Titan live-action film. It accompanied the announcement this morning that the film will receive a theatrical release later this year in Australia and New Zealand.

An English-subtitled release usually means that there is a higher likelihood for a home-video or digital release in other English-speaking markets, so fans in the U.K. and U.S. have something to be excited about.

Directed by Shinji Higuchi, the adaptation of the Attack on Titan manga and anime is split into two films. The first opens Aug. 1 in Japan and the second opens Sept. 19. The film is a post-apocalyptic fantasy set in a future where flesh-eating giants known as Titans have nearly wiped out humanity. Those few that have survived are forced to live surrounded by enormous walls built a century before to keep the Titans at bay. The Titans haven’t been seen in 100 years, but that all changes and the film’s heroes must team up to fight the giant menace.
