A24 Reunite with Swiss Army Man Writer-Directors The Daniels on Everything Everywhere All At Once

Nearly half a decade after delivering one of the more memorable feature film debuts in recent memory by casting Daniel Radcliffe as a farting corpse in 2016’s Swiss Army Man, The Daniels—writer-director duo Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheiner—are rejoining forces with A24 for their next film, Everything Everywhere All At Once. The production gets rolling in Los Angeles this week, with A24 coming aboard to finance and distribute it.

Everything Everywhere All At Once will star Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China, literally hundreds of others) and Jonathan Ke Quan (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom—he played Short Round!). That’s all we know for now: There’s no word yet on any of their roles, nor on the film’s plot, and that title sure doesn’t narrow anything down.

Marvel’s go-to duo of Joe and Anthony Russo chose Everything Everywhere All At Once as one of the very first films they would back via their AGBO Films banner, striking “what amounted to a blind deal to get the next film by Kwan and Scheinert up and running,” according to Deadline. It’s easy to see why: Swiss Army Man was, uh, unconventional, but undeniably imaginative, establishing The Daniels as fascinating new voices in film. We’ll keep you posted on whatever it is they plan on saying next.
