Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt Fight Nazis, Each Other in Explosive Allied Trailer

Allied looks like a blockbuster in every sense of the word. It’s got two bona fide movie stars in Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt, and a World War II setting. It’s also a film about espionage, and it’s one that makes Pitt and Cotillard feel a little bit like Rick and Ilsa of Casablanca.

In the film’s official trailer, we see Pitt’s British Intelligence officer Max Vatan team up with Cotillard’s Marianne Beausejour, a French Resistance fighter. As the two work together, they fall in love and start a family. That’s when Vatan learns that his wife may be a German spy, and he’s forced to deal with a newfound instability in his life.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump) and written by Steven Knight (Locke), Allied has all the hallmarks of an awards player, although the trailer certainly leans into the action side of the film. Even the delivery of a child seems to be interrupted by bombings.

Allied hits theaters on Nov. 23. Check out the full trailer above to watch Pitt and Cotillard fire lots of guns. Then, recall how well things went the last time Pitt played an Allied spy.
