Bill Murray, Linda Cardellini Sign On For John McNaughton’s The King of Counterfeit

Movies News Bill Murray

Director John McNaughton has snagged a list of A-list talent for his upcoming crime romance The King of Counterfeit.

Deadline is reporting that actors Bill Murrary, Josh Hutcherson and Linda Cardellini have signed on to the project that will see James Sclafani penning the screenplay and Mike Medavoy, Robert Greenhut and Murray producing.

The film follows two enterprising counterfeiters taken under the wing of both an exceptional and (exceptionally) crooked lawyer who becomes their mentor. After perfecting the art of producing counterfeit money, the two face big problems when a murderous fellow con is threatened by their particularly good game.

Murray’s last role had him voicing Baloo the bear for Jon Favreau’s hit adaptation of The Jungle Book. He is also slated to cameo in the upcoming and much talked about Ghostbusters reboot. Hutcherson is best known for his role as Peeta in The Hunger Games franchise, but is set to star in Seth Rogen’s Futureman comedy for Hulu.

Meanwhile, Cardellini’s ever-expanding resume will see her working next opposite Michael Keaton in The Founder, the big screen telling of McDonald’s founder. She last starred in Netflix’s Bloodline.
