Josh Hutcherson’s Robbery Attempt Goes Wrong in First Trailer for Constrained Thriller BURN

Momentum Pictures has released the first trailer for Mike Gan’s forthcoming thriller BURN, and things get scorched and bloody very, very quickly.

Starring Josh Hutcherson, Suki Waterhouse and Tilda Cobham-Hervey, the film follows meek and unstable gas station attendant Melinda (Cobham-Hervey), who tries to make a connection with a man (Hutcherson) robbing the gas station at gunpoint. From the trailer, it looks like the attendant is self-destructive and holds the man hostage in a break room after binding him with duct tape.

BURN also stars Harry Shum Jr. and Evil Dead’s Shiloh Fernandez, and marks writer-director Gan’s theatrical debut.

“In BURN, we explore what happens to deprived people who get bullied and rejected to a breaking point; fight back; then try to find themselves in the aftermath,” Gan said in a statement.

The film is set to arrive in theaters, digital and on demand on Aug. 23, and you can check out the trailer and the film’s poster below.
