Second Captive State Teaser Welcomes You to the Resistance

The resistance fights back in the second teaser for Captive State, an original sci-fi thriller from Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt.

“The Phoenix will rise,” the resistors say as they fight back against their alien overlords. Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after Earth was occupied by an extraterrestrial force now known as The Legislature, Captive State follows life on both sides of the conflict as a movement rises up in defense of humanity.

The film’s first teaser presented the fight from the perspective of those collaborating with The Legislature, including John Goodman’s mysterious character, and now the latest teaser shows a bit of the dissidents’ side.

Captive State was directed by Wyatt, who co-wrote the original script with Erica Beeney and also produced with David Crockett. The cast includes Goodman, Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors, Colson Baker and Vera Farmiga.

Focus Features premieres Captive State in theaters on March 29, 2019.
