Daniel Craig Hints at a Possible Return as James Bond

Movies News Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig may not have had his last shaken martini yet. In a conversation at the New Yorker Festival, the actor explained how much he enjoyed playing Bond, making some eyebrow-raising word choices. “I’ve got the best job in the world doing Bond. The things I get to do on a Bond movie and the type of work it is, there’s no other job like it,” Craig said, per Esquire.

This comes after Craig said that he would “rather slash [his] wrists” than do another Bond film, so needless to say, it’s a slight tonal shift. A possible explanation for this shift comes in the form of $150 million, which is the amount that Sony was rumored to have offered to Craig to keep him on as Bond. While that extravagant offer has since been debunked, it’s not unthinkable that producers would break the bank to get Craig back.

In the past, Craig has denied that there were any ongoing negotiations occurring. If in fact they aren’t, then this shift may simply be Craig’s attempt to mend some bridges with his former employers. Of course, it could also mean that Craig is planning to return to the role for his fifth film. Whatever the case may be, these latest statements certainly indicate a notable shift in Craig’s discussion of the role.
