Black Swan Director Darren Aronofsky’s Next Film May Be a Courtroom Drama About Artificial Intelligence

We still know next to nothing about Darren Aronofsky’s psychic-horror mother!, which hits theaters Oct. 13. Yet Aronofsky, who is best known for acclaimed thrillers like Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan, may already have another project on his plate in a script recently purchased by Paramount, as Deadline reports.

All we know about the untitled script, written by author Joe Epstein, are the slim details of a courtroom drama that involves artificial intelligence. Based on Aronofsky’s past works and the recently released poster for mother! below, the untitled drama will dive into the psychotropic, maybe even taking some notes from Elon Musk’s end-of-days theory on AI.

If you aren’t already aware of Aronofsky’s work, be on the lookout for more forward-thinking, mind-warping horror from the visionary director. mother! stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem as a couple whose lives are disturbed by the arrival of uninvited guest to their home. The movie also features Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Domhnall and Brian Gleeson.
