The trailer for Jason Bourque’s Drone promises an incredibly topical thriller that will likely struggle to answer its gut-wrenching questions about the morality of modern warfare.
Sean Bean stars as cagey American drone pilot Neil, who has been tracked down by Imir (Patrick Sabongui), a businessman from Karachi who lost his family to one of Neil’s bombs. Imir comes in the guise of a potential buyer of Neil’s boat and things go downhill rather quickly from there. Drone looks crazy tense, and should explore some of the truly grayer areas of its tricky subject matter, one hopes with more nuance and compassion than this clip would suggest.
Drone hits select theaters and VOD on Memorial Day weekend, and also stars Mary McCormack and Joel David Moore. Check out the trailer embedded above.
