The First Trailer for T2: Trainspotting Checks Back In With Our Favorite Addicts

A lot has happened in the 20 years since Trainspotting hit theaters. Cell phones, social media, and all three Star Wars prequels all came about after the 1996 film. In the new trailer for T2: Trainspotting, we get to see what the gents have been up to all this time.

The new trailer gives us an update of Mark Renton’s famous “Choose Life” speech from the original film. This time, we get mentions of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, reality TV and even revenge porn. The trailer also sees Renton reuniting with Spud, Sick Boy and Begbie. Check out the official synopsis below:

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.

Twenty years have gone by.
Much has changed but just as much remains the same.
Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.
