Image via Warner Bros.As promised yesterday by Warner Bros., the first teaser for the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel, subtitled The Crimes of Grindelwald, has apparated into our lives.
The teaser opens on a familiar sight: the iconic bridge and spires of Hogwarts, where a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) is confronted by MACUSA investigators who are hot on Newt Scamander’s (Eddie Redmayne) trail. Newt, however, is off to Paris, endeavoring to aid Dumbledore in thwarting powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp, whom director David Yates and writer J.K. Rowling have stood behind, despite his history of alleged domestic abuse), who has escaped custody and set about building an army of evil, pure-blood wizards intent on ruling a wizarding world that is more and more divided by the day.
Redmayne, Law and Depp star in the sequel alongside returning cast members Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Carmen Ejogo and Kevin Guthrie, plus newcomers Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam and Poppy Corby-Tuech.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters on Nov. 16. See the first teaser below.
