Kyle Chandler and Corey Stoll Join Damien Chazelle’s First Man
Photos by Matt Winkelmeyer/GettyDamien Chazelle’s next Oscar contender, First Man is commencing for take off with the announcement of new cast additions Kyle Chandler and Cory Stoll.
The film will tell the story of the first moon landing, based on a Neil Armstrong biography written by James Hansen. As previously announced, the La La Land and Whiplash director has once again cast Ryan Gosling as his leading man to play Armstrong.
Friday Night Lights’ Kyle Chandler will play Deke Slayton, NASA’s first Chief of the Astronaut Office. Corey Stoll, of The Strain and Ant Man will portray astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man on the moon.
Considering this cast, Chazelle’s directing and the writing of Spotlight Oscar winner Josh Singer, the film is sure to fly high during awards season.
First Man is set to hit theaters October 12, 2018.
