Strap in for Ford v Ferrari‘s First Trailer
Images via 20th Century Fox/The Walt Disney StudiosFord v Ferrari, the forthcoming film about guys just being dudes and making a car to take down those pesky Italians, got its first official trailer Monday morning.
In what is sure to be a real rags-to-riches fable, stars Matt Damon and Christian Bale are the underdogs bankrolled by Ford to take down Ferrari’s superior speedster. In this true story, Damon plays American car designer Carroll Shelby and Bale plays the rowdy British driver Ken Miles. Together, they “battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons” in pursuit of winning the 1966 French race, 24 Hours of Le Mans, per a press release.
The film also stars Jon Bernthal, Catriona Balfe, Tracy Letts and more. Ford v Ferrari is directed by James Mangold, the mind behind other Americana-interrogating retrospectives, Walk the Line and Logan. Whether Ford v Ferrari captures that introspection remains to be seen, though the film does promise to take “The American Dream for a ride,” whatever that means.
Ford v Ferrari is set for release on Nov. 15 via The Walt Disney Studios. Strap in for the trailer below, and then keep scrolling to find promotional photos and the official poster beneath that.
