Felicity Jones Joins George Clooney in Netflix’s Film Adaptation of Good Morning, Midnight

Felicity Jones will be joining George Clooney in Netflix’s film adaptation of the novel Good Morning, Midnight, per Deadline.

The film is based on Lily Brooks-Dalton’s 2016 novel and follows Augustine, a lonely scientist in the Arctic who’s portrayed by Clooney, as he attempts to make contact with an astronaut in space who is about to land on Earth. Currently, Jones’ role in the film is being kept under wraps.

Clooney will not only led the cast, but he will also direct the film, as well. The novel is being adapted for the big screen by The Revenant writer Mark L. Smith. Clooney and Grant Heslov will produce the film under Smokehouse Pictures alongside Anonymous Content and Syndicate Entertainment. At the moment, there is no release date for the film, but production is set to begin in October.

Jones most recently starred as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the 2018 biopic On the Basis of Sex. She also starred as Jyn Erso in Disney’s 2016 Star Wars stand-alone film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Jones will next appear in Amazon’s hot-air balloon thriller The Aeronauts with Eddie Redmayne, as well as the animated family flick Dragon Rider.
